Best Club Trophy to Rotary Chandigarh Midtown

Rotary Club of Chandigarh Midtown won the Best Club Trophy in the Rotary District 3080 for the year 2019-20, with Rtn Salil Bali declared as the Best President in the Rotary District. At the District Awards function held at Kurukshetra in the presence of a few club presidents and secretaries of last year with live streaming online, the awards were given to various clubs in the District for the service projects were undertaken during the last Rotary year which ended on 30th June under the leadership of District Governor 2019=20 Rtn Jitendra Dhingra. Rotary Club of Chandigarh received the Awards for maximum projects during 2019-20, the project for a medical mission to Zimbabwe, and best contribution to the Rotary Foundation during the year, which were presented to last year president Rtn Surinder Pal Kaur. Rotary Chandigarh Shivalik received the best club award in its category for its ‘Dinner in the Dark’ project. The last Rotary year’s President Rtn Salil Bali of Chandigarh Midtown who attended the function and received the Best Club Trophy from the District functionaries for organizing 26 AIDS awareness camps. Another District Trophy for its Best Project on TB awareness was also won by Chandigarh Midtown, besides its member Assistant Governor Deepak Sood adjudged as the best club trainer. Salil Bali said that the club could do wonder because of the active participation of every one of its 113 members despite the lockdown since March. Congratulating the award winners, Past Rotary International President Rajendra K Saboo through online video the erence said that Rotary is a continuous process and with each passing year, it grows stronger and through the leadership opportunity that it gives to various Rotarians it not only makes them heroes for that year, but better human beings for the rest of their lives. Over 150 Rotarians attended online, including various senior Rotarians, current District Governor Ramesh Bajaj, and past district governors including Kawal Bedi, Arun Sharma, Shaju Peter, Ranbir Singh, Manmohan Singh, Satish Saluja, Parmod Vij MLA, Yoginder Dewan, Ranbir Singh, Col Patnaik, TK Ruby, Jitendra Dhingra, and incoming leadership of the District Ajay Madan, and Naveen Gulati, amongst others.
