Under the supervision of Sh. Arjun Sharma, IAS, Sub Divisional Magistrate (East), U.T, Chandigarh a team of Sanitary Inspectors has conducted a surprise anti plastic, epidemic raid in the Indl. Area, Ph-I ( Elante Mall), Chandigarh and issued 23 challans of Rs 5000/- to the defaulters and seized 1.5 quintal polythene bags/plastic allied items.

   Spreading the message of conservation, Elante, the environmentally conscious mall, today hosted the World Environment Day celebrations under the aegis of the Chandigarh administration, where city schools with the Best Eco Club were conferred special awards and students from various schools all over Chandigarh participated in a poster making contest, a play competition on the theme of “polythene bag-free Chandigarh” and a Green Quiz. 

Mr TC Nautiyal, Conservator of Forests, UT and Member Secretary, Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, presented the Best Eco Club Awards to five schools, including 

1st Prize – Eco Club of St Joseph’s Sr sec School Sector 44-D

2nd Prize – Eco Club of Gurukul Global School, Manimajra Chandigarh

3rd Prize- Eco Club of Govt Model Ser Sec Scholl Sector 33 D Chandigarh 

The event began with a poster making contest, where students at their creative best came up with thought-provoking posters highlighting the pressing need to protect the environment. In an effort to inculcate a sense of responsibility among visitors about matters of environmental concern, Elante, in association with the Chandigarh administration, distributed about 1,000 saplings and cloth bags among them. 

A short film on Green Chandigarh and Solar Chandigarh and a slide show on birds and butterflies of the city were also screened on the occasion. Commenting on the initiative, Mr Anil Malhotra, Executive Director, Elante Mall, said, “This is for the first time that Elante has partnered with the Chandigarh administration for the World Environment Day celebrations. As an environmentally conscious mall, we at Elante have always been at the forefront when it comes to promoting sustainable and healthy living. We thank the Chandigarh administration for giving us this opportunity.”

श्री दुर्गा मंदिर धर्म प्रचार एवं मंदिर निर्माण सभा सेक्टर 41 ए, चण्डीगढ़ में श्री सिद्ध बाबा बालक नाथ के जन्मदिवस पर नौ दिवसीय 12वां विशाल धार्मिक समारोह मनाया जा रहा है । जिसमें रोजाना सायं 6 बजे से रात 9 बजे तक विभिन्न गायकों की ओर से बाबा का गुणगान किया जाता है। कार्यक्रम से पूर्व बाबा की आरती भी की जाती है । आज की आरती में हिमाचल प्रदेश सुजानपुर विधानसभा क्षेत्र से विधायक राजेंद्र राणा ने भाग लिया। उन्होंने यहाँ बाबा के चरणों में माथा टेका व पूजा-अर्चना भी की। उनके साथ मंदिर के प्रधान एचएल छाबड़ा, महासचिव मनोहर लाल व अन्य पदाधिकारी भी मौजूद थे। ये समारोह 10  जून तक चलेगा।

सेक्टर 17 प्लाजा में पर्यावरण दिवस के  अवसर पर “ हरियाली बढ़ाओ जनसंख्या घटाओ ” कार्यक्रम का आयोजन रूबी गुप्ता सोशल एक्टिविस्ट  और लेमन ड्रॉप्स आर्ट्स ग्रुप के सहयोग से आयोजित किया गया l इस कार्यक्रम का मुख्य आकर्षण थिएटर आर्टिस्ट प्रीति जैन द्वारा निर्देशित स्ट्रीट  नाटक  " जिंदगी " रहा l  नाटक में बताया गया कि आज की सबसे बड़ी त्रासदी यह है, कि हम पर्यावरण की सुरक्षा के लिए बिल्कुल भी सचेत नहीं है l हम अपनी जिम्मेवारी को नहीं समझ रहे हैं रूबी गुप्ता द्वारा पर्यावरण को  जीवित रखने के लिए आयोजित कार्यक्रम के दोरान  पक्षियों को भयंकर गर्मी से निजत दिलाने और उनकी प्यास को बुझाने के लिए  सैकड़ों मिट्टी के कटोरे  एवं पौधे लोगों में वितरित किए गए l 

कार्यक्रम के मंचन द्वारा  बताया गया कि आज सबसे बड़ा आतंक पर्यावरण की हरियाली को नष्ट करना बन चुका है l हम तथाकथित विकास की अंधी दौड़ में पर्यावरण की हरियाली को नष्ट कर भयंकर सुखा ग्रस्त-अकाल की तरफ अग्रसर होते जा रहे हैं l भविष्य को यदि सुरक्षित रखना है तो पर्यावरण बचाने के लिए एक व्यापक जन क्रांति लानी जरूरी है l इस अवसर पर चंडीगढ़ की पूर्व महापौर आशा कुमारी जसवाल, बी जे पी नेता गिरधारी लाल जिंदल, चंडीगढ़ हाउसिंग बोर्ड के निर्देशक प्रेम कौशिक, सचिन लोटिया पार्षद, सुनीता धवन पार्षद, संतोष शर्मा चेयरमैन समाज कल्याण विभाग चंडीगढ़, महिला नेता मोनिका बंसल, मोनिका भारद्वाज, प्रसिद्ध पर्यावरण कवियत्री मंजू फूल, गिरिवर शर्मा विशव हिन्दू परिषद् धर्माचार्य प्रमुख  विशेष रुप से उपस्थित रहे l आशा कुमारी जसवाल ने संबोधन करते हुए कहा कि जल है तो कल है, जल वर्षा से मिलता है और हमारा हरा- भरा पर्यावरण ही पेड़-पौधों की और आकर्षित करते हैं अतः हरियाली ही जीवन का आधार है साथ ही सुनीता धवन ने लेमिन ग्रुप के कलाकारों द्वारा मानचित “ जिंदगी ” नाटक द्वारा पर्यावरण बचाने के लिए कलाकारों को एवं निर्देशक प्रीति जैन को धन्यवाद प्रदान किया l कार्यक्रम के अंत में  उपस्थित सभी सदस्य गणों ने शपथ ली कि पर्यावरण को सुरक्षित रखा जाएगा एवं कम से कम 10 हरे-भरे पौधे लगाने के लिए प्रेरित किया जाएगा l

12th Boards: DPS's Anushca Bindra counters family problems, does social work & still emerges tops

Proving the authenticity of what hard work means in real life, Anushca Bindra, student of DPS School, Chandigarh brought laurels to her school as well as family by scoring a magnificent 97.2597.2%(best of 4) in Commerce stream in her CBSE 12^th Board Exams. “It was an amazing feeling. I was confident of getting a good result but 97.2% really seems great. I thank my family and teachers for their continuous support. It would not have been possible without them”, said a delighted Anushca.  

    Securing 99 in Economics, 98 in Business Studies, 97 in Mathematics, 95 in Accounts and 95 in English, Anushca has set an example of strong determination and dedication. The undaunted zeal of the topper can be seen the way she dealt with the situation after knowing that her mother was suffering from third stage cancer. Despite this, she helped her mother out in the difficult phase of hard medication and also came out with flying colors in her academics. 

    It is noteworthy that Anushca is not one of those surrounded by her books. She balances everything in a systematic way which can be seen through her little endeavor of arts and craft which she has been running for quite a long time. Apart from this, the kind hearted girl has been involved in raising funds by baking cup cakes and organizing exhibitions to help operate a child of two years. Her beauty with brains personality comes out from the fact that she has walked the ramp quite often.

    Anushca Bindra is an example for those who think they have to go with what life brings them. Her hard work has also got her entry into US Universities for higher studies.

   आज की युवा  पीढ़ी  जहां  घूमने  और अपना समय  व्यर्थ  करने में व्यस्त  है, वहीं  कुछ ऐसे युवा भी देखने  को मिले  जो आज भी समाज  सेवा कर रहें है जिसमें उनका कोई निजी  स्वार्थ नहीं है l ऐसे ही कुछ युवाओं  को देखा  गया जो गरीब   लोगो की सहायता  करते हैं l  इन युवाओं ने  बीड़ा  उठाया की सड़क के किनारे और मोहल्ले में  भीख मांगने वालों को कपड़े  देकर उनकी  मदद  कर रहें हैं l हालाँकि  ये सेवा संस्थाओं द्वारा भी  की जा रही है पर युवा शक्ति द्वारा ये  सेवा करना सराहनीय  कार्य  है l  जिसमे  पराग गुप्ता, ,राहुल  राजपूत, ,अंशुल खंडेलवाल  जो की चंडीगढ़  के एक निजी कॉलेज  के छात्र  है को ऐसी सेवा करते देखा गया l

भारतीय जनता पार्टी मंडल नंबर 5 द्वारा धनास में निशुल्क नेत्र चेकअप कैंप लगाया गया जिस में मुख्य रुप से चंडीगढ़ के महापौर श्री देवेश मोदगिल जी, जिला नंबर 2 के अध्यक्ष एवं पार्षद रवि कांत शर्मा जी, सारंगपुर थाना के SHO राम रतन जी,धनास गांव के सरपंच कुलजीत संधू विशेष रुप से उपस्थित रहे

           मंडल अध्यक्ष संजीव वर्मा ने बताया कि भारतीय जनता पार्टी के मंडल नंबर 5 की पूरी टीम के सहयोग से धनास में निशुल्क नेत्र कैंप लगाया गया शेल्बी मल्टी स्पेशलिटी हॉस्पिटल मोहाली कि डॉक्टर भावलीन कौर तथा उनकी टीम  (कार्निया एवं  कैटरेक्ट सर्जन) कैंप में मरीजों की जांच करने के लिए आई थी जिसमें तकरीबन 130 मरीजों के नेत्रों की निशुल्क जांच की गई कुछ मरीजों में मोतियाबिंद व अन्य तरह की आंखों की परेशानी पायी गयी जिसके ऑपरेशन के लिए उन्हें मोहाली स्थित शेल्बी हॉस्पिटल में बहुत ही कम रेट पर ऑपरेशन करवाने की सलाह दी गयी कैंप में बहुत से लोगो को बाजार से बहुत ही कम कीमत पर चश्मे भी दिए गए  महापौर श्री देवेश मोदगिल जी एवं पार्षद रवि कांत शर्मा जी ने सराहना करते हुए कहा की समाज में इस प्रकार के कार्यो की बहुत जरूरत रहती है जिस से गरीबो को बहुत फायदा मिलता है कैंप में मंडल टीम से रोहित शर्मा ,नजमा खान,सुरजीत राणा,योगेश कुमार ,गिरीश बिंजोला ,विजय अग्रवाल ,नरेंदर चौधरी,राम राज तिवारी ,करमजीत ,अजय पांडेय   ,पंचायत समिति के मेंबर भजन सिंह रहे

   A Junior Golf Training Programme will be conducted at the Chandigarh Golf Club from 8^th June – 18^th June for children aged 7 – 17 years. This junior programme will be conducted by European Golf Teachers Federation certified coach Ajay Gujral who has over 16 years of golf teaching experience.

This programme for children is a part of the Chandigarh Golf Club Junior Golf Training Programme which has been initiated last week by the President of the Club Sh. Birinder Singh Gill. The idea behind the CGC Junior Training Programme is to introduce as many children as possible to the game of golf in the form of camps, individual lessons and group coaching sessions. Outstation children who are visiting Chandigarh during their summer vacations are also welcome to enrol. Even children who are non-members of the club and wish to play the game are welcome to enrol in this programme. Golf equipment and balls will be provided to the children who do not have their own. Each child will also receive a certificate upon completion of this training programme.

The programme will be conducted at the state-of-the-art driving range of the Chandigarh Golf Club. The Learning facility is fully covered and protects the children from the Sun. This programme will focus on the fundamentals of the golf game including basic swing technique, short game instruction, Grip, Aim, Alignment, Stance, Posture and integration of the core values of the golf game ranging from proper etiquette, dress code and good sportsmanship.

   सरकार के लिए लोक शिकायत निवारण सर्वोद्य प्राथमिक का विषय है। इसी प्रयास में आयकर विभाग ने कल दिनांक 01 जून, से 15 जून, 2018 तक एक विशेष शिकायत निवारण फखवाड़ा मनाने का निर्णय किया है। फखवाड़े के प्रत्येक कार्य दिवस पर सभी निर्धारण अधिकारी इसमें शामिल रहेंगे । आवेदक कर दाता तथा सलाहकार अपने मामलों के संबंध में संबंधित निर्धारण अधिकारी बिना किसी पूर्ण अर्पाइमेंट के मिल सकता है। पखवाड़े के दौरान कर दाताओं को सहायता हेतु आयकर भवन सै1टर १७ चण्डीगढ़ के भूतल पर स्थित ऑस्क सेंटर पर एक विशेष हैल्प डे1स भी लगाया जायगा ।  

      फखवाड़े के दौरान भूल सुधार अपील प्रभाव तथा टी डी एस मिसमैच के कारण विवादित मांग को सही करना तथा मांग और रिफंड से संबंधित अन्य शिकायतों पर विशेष जोर दिया जाएगा। किसी भी परेशानी की अवस्था में कर दाता अपने शिकायतों के निवारण के लिए संबंधित रेंज प्रमुख अथवा संबंधित प्रधान आयकर आयुक से भी मिल सकता है। आई सी ए आई तथा बार एसोसिएशन से लंबिंत मामलों को निपटाने के लिए इस अवसर का लाभ उठाने का अनुरोध किया जाता है ।
