Computer Science Department of Aryans College
of Engineering, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh organized a workshop on “A Digital
Self-Defence” at its Campus. Students of B.Tech (CSE) and BCA attended the
workshop. Mr. Lovejot Singh Chhabra, Founder & Director, Cyber Defence
Intelligence was the keynote speaker on the occasion. Delivering the keynote
address Mr. Chhabra talked about 15 different fields in cyber security
including Web based Security, N/W Security, Server Security, Forensic security
etc. Chhabra while interacting with the students about the features of Android
Mobile phones said that we just love the features of smart phones but we don’t
care about the Security and Privacy. Chhabra further said that people are not
aware that they are hacked by many applications. These applications hack our
account, privacy, data by making us accept their agreement before signing into
the account. We are unaware that by accepting their terms and conditions we are
providing our personal data to hackers.

months before the Indian government on recommendation of intelligence agencies
has announced around 42 mobile apps on both android and iOs which are reported
as Chinese spyware. These Chinese apps have the potential to carry out cyber
attack against India. Some of these Chinese apps are – Weibo, WeChat, ShareIT,
True Caller, UC News, UC Browser, Beauty Plus, 360 Security, DU Cleaner, DU
Battery Saver, We Sync, QQ Launcher, ES File Explorer, You Cam Makeup,
SelfieCity, MI Community, Vault Hide – NQ Mobile Security, Baidu Translate etc
