About 100 students of Khalsa College Patiala
attend Art Workshop by Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi, conducted by artist Jaspal S.

Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi organized a drawing
and Painting workshop by eminent artist Jaspal.S at Genral Shivdev Singh Diwan
Gurbachan Singh Khalsa College Patiala. Through audio visual aids Jaspal. S
showed his artistic journey to approximately one hundred students and teachers.
After that about fifty students participated in acrylic painting
workshop. Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha ,Principal Khalsa College Patiala
welcomed the President, Punjab Lalit kala Akademi Diwan Manna a guest artist
Jaspal. S . He also thanked the Akademi for organizing this workshop in
their institution. Along with this he highlighted the importance of art in
life. Diwan Manna thanked Dr .Ubha for opening the doors of art for the Akademi
to reach out to youngsters. He also said that Principal not only opened the
doors of the college for his own students but the students of colleges as well.
After this Jaspal .S demonstrated how to draw with Charcoal as well as acrylic
painting. After this the artist taught the students about the nuances of
drawing and painting. In this way the students got an opportunity to get
acquainted with the artist. During this workshop Prof.Sandeep
Chahal, Professor of college focused the importance of art among students. Dr.
Manvir Kaur, of Fine Arts department conducted the proceedings. Diwan Manna
specially thanked the administrations, Principal Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha and
other staff members along with students for being part of the workshop. They
specially thanked the coordinator of the workshop Prof. Kamal
Sohal.
Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi is making constant
efforts to initiate art activity among youngsters in educational institutions.
Therefore, the academy has started a series called 'Adharshila'. The
information about subtle aspects of art is being given to the students through
these workshops by renowned artists along with audio visual presentations in
schools and colleges of small towns and villages in various districts of
Punjab.
