PU NSS Volunteers at Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary

Department Forest & Wildlife, Union Territory, Chandigarh organized Nature & Wildlife trek at Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary. Jeesu Jaskanwar Singh, NSS Programme Officer led the team of NSS volunteers Gurpreet Singh (Physical Education), Sandeep and Rajkiran (USOL), Kajal and Neeraj (Evening Studies). The NSS team reached Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary on bicycles to promote environmental conservation and good health. The purpose of Nature & Wildlife trek was to create awareness among the residents of Chandigarh and adjoining areas about the protection of flora and fauna & preservation & restoration of biodiversity. The trek route traversed the undulated path with gentle to moderate slopes. The trek started from Nepli Gate turned left from Roadianwali Khui towards the point of origin. Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary is spread in the area of 2610.99 and Department Forest & Wildlife had displayed informational panels with photographs and write up about the local flora and fauna across the trek route. The participants are educated about the status of conservation of soil and endangered animals through information panels.
