Inter- School Sports meet for Boys &Girls (under 14 years) organised by
Sports Department concluded successfully today. Shri Arun Kumar, IAS, Principal
Secretary, Home, Chandigarh Administration was the Chief Guest at the
valedictory function held at Sports Complex, Sector7, Chandigarh. Competitions
were held in 16 sports disciplines and total 2403 players participated in the
sports meet. Final bouts of Taekwondo were conducted in the presence of the
Chief Guest. The Principal Secretary, Home distributed certificates, and cash
prizes amounting to Rs. 1500, 1000 and 750 to winners, runners up and third
position holders respectively. Shri KK Yadav, IAS, Secretary Sports,
Chandigarh, Sh. Tejdeep Saini, PCS, Director Sports, Chandigarh. Dr Mahender Singh,
JDS, Sh. Ravinder Singh, DSO, Sh. Ajeet Singh, Director, Chandigarh Region,
SAI, Ms Kanwal Thakut Singh, Ex National Badminton Champion and Commonwealth
medallist, Mr Dhillon, International Shooting Coach, Ms Neelu Sareen,
Chandigarh area Director of ‘Special Olympics Bharat’ were also present at the
ceremony. Final Results of Taekwondo Boys> 41 Kg Rahul (DAV, Sec 8) Winner Sanchit
(Chitkara school, Sec 25)—Runner up Girls<38 Kg Hemani Singh (Stepping
Stones sec37) Winner, Zoya (Ryan school, sec49) Runner up.
