Police Administration Promotes Policemen During Pinning Ceremony

A mass promotion pinning ceremony of
Chandigarh Police was organized at Multipurpose Hall, Police Line, Sector 26,
Chandigarh to put epaulettes (insignia) on the shoulder of the promoted police personnel.
The department has granted local rank to police personnel of the Chandigarh
Police after completion of 16, 24, 30 years of service, as a welfare measure.
The Details of promotion are as under:- Constable to Head Constable = 48, Head
Constable to Asst. Sub Inspector = 428, Asst. Sub Inspector to Sub Inspector =
13, Sub Inspector to Inspector = 17 Sh.
Manoj Parida, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh was the chief
guest at the function. Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary Home, UT,
Chandigarh and Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha, IAS, Finance Secretary, UT, Chandigarh were
also present as Guest of Honour. Sh. Sanjay Baniwal, IPS, Director General of
Police, Sh. Ombir Singh Bishnoi, IPS, DIG/UT, Sh. Shashank Anand, IPS, SSP/Sec
& Traffic, Ms. Nilambari Jagdale, IPS, SSP/UT and other Senior Officers of
Chandigarh Police were also present during the ceremony. The promoted police
officers have expressed their gratitude to the officers of Chandigarh
Administration. The promotion were given to eligible police personnel on the
pattern of Punjab Police to boost their morale and efficiency to perform their
duties with more vigor, utmost dedication and honesty after getting approval of
Chandigarh Administration as welfare
measure. The function was organized with pride and enthusiasm among different
ranks as promotions to police personnel were given at mass level.
