UT ADMINISTRATOR HONORS TEACHERS ON TEACHER’S DAY AT TAGORE

The Education Department Chandigarh celebrated Teacher’s Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishan at Tagore Theatre today. Sh. VP Singh Badnore was the chief guest on this occasion. The Director School Education, Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar welcomed the guests and teachers and also shared the role of a teacher in a student’s life considering them the nation builders. He said that teachers play a significant role in training human resource.  He also shared the future endeavors of the Education Department that will help them achieve their set targets. The highlight of the event was the performance by the teachers of different schools who set the tone high for the celebration. This thought provoking concept of the performance was deeply appreciated by the audience. It was a mesmerizing sight witnessing the Guru and Shishya duo on stage.  With their enthralling performance, the team ignited the musical spirit among all creating an aura of excitement and gratitude. The Administrator honored teachers with State Award for the year 2019, Commendation Certificates and Appreciation letters for their excellent contribution in the field of Education. He congratulated and appreciated the efforts of Education Department for taking steps towards improving the infrastructure of the Government schools and enhancing facilities for students. He also stressed that it is a matter of proud that Chandigarh has been selected to take part in the global PISA test scheduled to be conducted by OECD, an official United Nation Observer, to be held in the summer of 2021. The Administrator congratulated the awardees for the commitment, diligence and devotion towards their duty. He also welcomed the group of teachers recognized by Shri Aurobindo Society, which started a program named RUPAANTAR and called for ZIIEI i.e “Zero Investment Innovations for Education Initiative.” He appealed to the teaching community of the State to draw inspiration from Dr.S.Radhakrishnan and discharge their duties, with a renewed sense of dedication and commitment.State Awards were conferred to Sh. Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Principal-GMSSS, MHC MM and 8 teachers from different schools of Chandigarh:- Sapna Sood, lecturer in History – GSSS MMT, Sheli Sharma, Lecturer in Home Science – GMSSS 33, Jarnail Singh, TGT  Punjabi – GMSSS 38W, Urmila Sharma, TGT, Science Medical GMSSS 32, Madhu Bala, TGT -S.ST GMSSS 15, RenuVashisht, TGT -S.ST GMSSS 28D, Sanjogita, TGT - Maths, GMHS 38D Rakesh Kumar, JBT GMSSS 44, Commendation Certificates were given to:- Rupinder Pal Kaur, Lecturer in Economics – GMSSS MMT. Savita Sharma, TGT Music GMHS-40, Sukhbir Kaur, TGT Drawing GMSSS 44 Special Appreciation Certificates were given to:- Dr. Gunanidhi Sharma, Sanskrit Mistress, Dr. Amrita Bhullar, Home Science Mistress Sanjay Kumar, S.S. Master, Neelam Sharma, JBT
