     Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Chandigarh in his key note address stressed upon the ramifications of technology in the digital age. He spoke about the use of technology in the contemporary digital revolution and stressed upon using social media for advocacy and for bridging the gap between the haves and have-nots and to use technology for the benefit of the under privileged, differently able and marginalized section of society.  He also cautioned against the over use of social media in the Indian Society and the dire need for digital detoxification. He further stressed upon the need for an effective interface between technology and human relations. He shared innovative best practices of good governance initiated by him during his tenure as D.C. in Chandigarh, Jind and Jhajjar. Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University in his address emphasized for inclusive growth and need for young minds to participate in true research and for their inclusive role and holistic contribution in the society. He further deliberated that even though technology on one hand has increased connect but on the other hand has reduced human physical contact. He emphasized on the importance of being a good human being for deliverance to society. He shared his vision for the University in the field of artificial intelligence, cyber security and for the establishment of disability resource centre to address the needs of differently able. He concluded his lecture by applauding the innovative mobile application, ‘E-blood’ created by Maneet, a student of the centre. Dr. Namita Gupta, Chairperson, Centre for Human Rights & Duties welcomed the guests and shared the achievements of the students of the Centre in various fields since its establishment in the year 2007. She further informed that a series of lectures will be organized in the coming weeks and the people from the field of academics, bureaucracy and social activists will be invited to share their knowledge and experiences with the students of the Centre. The program was well attended by the students and faculties from various disciplines.
