“ Hindi Divas ” celebrated at PGGC 11

The
Dept.of Hindi of PGGC 11, Chandigarh celebrated Hindi Divas on 14th Sep. 2018
as a mark of acknowledgement of Hindi as a National Language. On the occasion
Poster Making Competition, Poetry Writing Competition and Essay Writing
Competition were held. The Principal of the college Prof. Rama Arora
highlighted upon the growing popularity of the Hindi language and gave away the
prizes to the winners. The Head of Dept. Prof. (Dr.) Sukhdev Singh Minhas said
that there are a lot of job oppourtunities for the students in the Hindi
language as in the field of Journalism, Radio, TV, Advertisement, Films etc and
they should come forward to learn and study hindi language which has a very
rich past. Dean Prof. Ranjan Verma applauded the efforts of the faculty and the
students in diverting the attention of all towards giving its due status of
“Mother Tongue”. The Vice Principal of the college, Dr. Anuradha Mittal urged
all present to take a pledge in respecting the Hindi language and that we
should all be proud of it.Prof. Poonam, Prof. Nisha from the Hindi Dept. and
other teachers of the college were also present on the occasion.
