Scientific Instruments Organisation today celebrated its Foundation Day.
Professor Shyam Sunder Pattnaik, Director, National Institute of Technical
Teachers & Research, Chandigarh gave an inspiring, motivating and thought
provoking Foundation Day Lecture “Reorienting Research for Industry 4.0”. In
his lecture he emphasized on the importance of R&D Internet of Things and
said that it will be instrumental in achieving the objective of connecting with
the industry. He said that new skills for complex problem solving
like Critical Thinking and Creativity are required for reorienting research for
the benefit of industry. He gave a mantra to the scientists to Think Good, Do
Good and Be Good so as to be of service to the great nation of ours.

while welcoming the chief guest highlighted the aims and goals of CSIO and its
contribution in the field of science and technology. Prof. Sinha also presented
an overview of the on-going projects and future plans of the organisation.
Annual report of CSIO was also released both in print and electronic media as a
commemoration of organisation’s support to the clean green initiative. He said
while releasing the annual report of CSIO that the lab has CSIR-CSIO has
developed a wide knowledgebase in the area of healthcare, clean water,
precision farming and renewable energy for the Common Man. He said that 5
technologies have been transferred to the industry in the areas of biomedical
devices, cockpit instrumentation and post-harvest agri-instrumentation. 12 MoUs
and 7 Project Agreements with National and International institutes were
signed, 9 Patents were granted and 79 SCI Journal research papers, 86
Conference papers and 12 Book Chapters have been published. 77 invited talks have
been organized along with 31 Seminar Series lecture from India and abroad. He
said that in the past year CSIO won many prestigious awards such as Young
Scientist Award, IETE-FLT LT Tanmaya Singh Dandaaa Memorial Award, IEI Young
Engineers Award, Certificate of Appreciation at National Conference of Social
Innovation, Indian Young Leadership Award, Gold-Skoch Transformational
Innovation award and SKOCH order of merit award The function concluded with a formal
vote of thanks by Dr. H. K. Sardana, senior most Scientist of CSIO.
