ADMINISTERS OATH TO PPSC CHAIRMAN & 2 MEMBERS IN PRESENCE OF CAPT AMARINDER

Governor V.P. Singh Badnore on Tuesday administered the oath of office to the
newly appointed Chairman and members of Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC)
in the presence of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. Lieutenant General
(Retd.) Surinder Singh was sworn in as PPSC Chairman, while Additional District
and Sessions Judge Mohali Shivinder Singh Mann was administered the oath of
office and allegiance to the Constitution as the official member, and eminent
author and columnist Harmohan Kaur Sandhu (Bubbu Tir) as non-official member. Chief Secretary Karan Avtar Singh conducted the proceedings of
the swearing-in-ceremony at the Punjab Raj Bhawan here. Lt. General Surinder Singh had retired as the General Officer
Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Western Command of the Indian Army. Additional
District and Sessions Judge Shivinder Singh had also served a special judge in
the CBI court of Punjab and Presiding Officer, Industrial Tribunal-cum-Labour
Court, Chandigarh. Eminent writer Bubbu Tir is daughter of Late Dr. Gurnam
Singh Tir, popularly known as Chacha Chandigarhiya. Cabinet Minister Vijay
Inder Singla, Special Principal Secretary Revenue KBS Sidhu, Additional Chief
Secretary Home Satish Chandra, Principal Secretary to Governor J.M. Balamurgam,
Special Principal Secretary to CM Gurkirat Kirpal Singh and Secretary Personnel
AS Miglani were present at the ceremony, along with the family members and
well-wishers of the newly appointed members.The National Anthem was played by
the Punjab Police band on the occasion.
