Dayanand Chair for Vedic Studies organized National Seminar at PU

A Seminar on Vedic studies is being organized by the Dayanand Chair for Vedic Studies, on 15th and 16th of November, at the Golden Jubilee Hall, starting 9:30 am. Vice Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar shall preside over the inaugural session, for which Governor 
V. P. Singh Badnore shall be the chief guest. Around forty Vedic scholars from around the country are expected to participate in the seminar. It is worth noting that there are two schools running, one each in Ludhiana and Ropar, which teach traditional Vedic recitation. The seminar is being organised with the financial support of Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Vedavidyalaya, Ujjain. The main subject of the seminar will be- The tradition of Vedic Studies in Punjab and Vedic values for society. The Chairperson Prof. Virendra Kumar Alankar told that remarkable work has been done in Punjab regarding Vedas. To evaluate this, scholars from around the country have been invited. Punjab is a land of wisdom and penance. Some texts written in the prepartition Punjab reached India, while some remained in Lahore. Prof. Alankar presented a paper on the same subject in the World Sanskrit Conference, in Vancouver, Canada which was organised in July this year.
