Professor to present a talk at the Indian Science Congress

Dr. Rajat Sandhir, Professor,
Department of Biochemistry, Panjab University, Chandigarh has been invited
to deliver a talk in a Plenary Session on Recent Trends of Research in
Neurodegenerative diseases during 106th Indian Science Congress from 3-7 January,
2019 to be hosted by the Lovely Professional University, Phagwara,
Jalandhar, Punjab. Prof. Sandhir would share his work on relationship
between diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease. His work has recently
highlighted role of insulin in Alzheimer’s disease. Prof. Sandhir has been
at Panjab University for almost two decades and has been pursuing interest
in understanding neurodegenerative disorders like Diabetic and Hepatic Encephalopathy,
Alzheimer’s disease, Stroke, etc. He has also identified certain
neuroprotective molecules that can prevent neurodegeneration. He has
published 175 research papers and has guided over 25 Ph.D. students. His
research work has been funded by many national agencies.
