The 5th Meeting Of The Administrator’s Advisory Council Was Held Today Under The Chairmanship Of Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor Of Punjab And Administrator, U.T Chandigarh At Hotel Mount View, Chandigarh. Out Of The 10 Standing Committees, 6 Standing Committees Have Already Placed Their Recommendations In The Previous Advisory Council Meetings. The Chairman Of The Remaining 4 Standing Committees On Environment, Health, Urban Planning & Heritage Preservation And Transportation Made Presentations Of The Recommendations Of The Respective Committees, Which Were Discussed At Length By The Council. The Standing Committee On Environment Placed Its Recommendations On The Subjects Of Waste Management Action, Curbing Noise Pollution, Detailed Air Quality Action Plan, Protection Of Sukhna Wild Life Sanctuary Area As An Eco-Sensitive Zone, Cleaning And Maintenance Of Three Choes. The Standing Committee On Health Placed Its Recommendations On Running Of Dispensaries, Computerization Of Primary And Secondary Level Health Care, Shifting Of Mch In Newly Built Hospital At Sector 48, Biometric Attendance At All Health Facilities, Outsourcing Of Diet In Hospitals/ Health Facilities, Uniformity In Procurement In Gmch 32/Gmsh-16etc.The Standing Committee On Urban Planning And Heritage Preservation Highlighted Its Recommendations On Coordination With Neigh Bouring States For Preserving Skyline Of Shivalik Hills, Setting Up Of Rain Water Harvesting Underground Water Reservoirs, Up Gradation Of City Museum And Art Gallery, Designating Industrial Area As Downtown Cum Financial City Etc.Lastly, The Standing Committee On Transport Presented The Comparative Analysis Of Various Options Of Mass Rapid Transport System Such As Metro, Light Rail, Mono Rail, Brts, Bus Transport System Etc. It Also Highlighted Its Recommendations To Provide Facilities Like Prepaid Booths At The Isbt/ Railway Station/ Airport, Parking Problems And Prohibiting Parking In Green Areas, Alternate Routes Etc. The Administrator Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, Directed The U.T Administration To Take Follow Up Actions And Implement The Accepted Recommendations.The Meeting Was Attended By Smt. Kirron Kher, Member Of Parliament, Chandigarh, Sh. Satya Pal Jain, Additional Solicitor General Of India, Sh. Rajesh Kalia, Mayor Chandigarh, Sh. Manoj Parida, Ias, Adviser To The Administrator, Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Ias, Principal Secretary Home, Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha, Ias, Finance Secretary, Sh. J.M Balamurugan, Ias, Principal Secretary To Governor, Chandigarh, Sh. Pawan Kumar Bansal, Ex-Mp, Members Of The Advisory Council And Senior Officers Of Chandigarh Administration.
